Keep Away

When we aren't out walking in the woods, there is nothing else
Lily enjoys more than a good ol' game of 'keep away'. The rules of this game are to take, and then keep the ball away from her dam, Sandie (Clear Sable Dog). For those of you
who don't know Sande, she is a retriving fool. I think Sandie's Dam, Gyp and her daughter,
Lily think this game is a complete waste of time and effort. Lily will put a stop to it so *she* can play *her* game with the ball.

It starts out with taking the ball away.

Sandie often will look at us for 'help' almost to say
"She's got the ball and won't give it back."

Sometimes the opportunity for a quick grab comes around,
but Lily is too fast for Sandie to get a good grip on the ball.

Then like Lightening she is off, usually with Sandie right behind her....

...but not today.....

....today, Lily is off like a shot.....

.....with Sandie unable to keep up....

...look at her go!

And yes, she does bring it back, and the whole game starts over
again.

Winning Card!

Hi
I thought it might be time for another card. This little darling I entered into the
Ilderton Fair this past September.  The theme was in " Our Special Day" for
a Wedding or Anniversary card.

I won First Place with it.
It was pretty involved to make, but also fun to do. Hubby
help me select the background colour on the card.
Hope you enjoy it, and thanks for
stopping by!

Autumn Walk

One of the things we like to do on weekends is take the dogs for a good long walk/hunt in the woods. There, they encounter numberous scents and sometimes take chase to a rabbit, or locate a
squirrel in a tree top.
Here we all are sitting nicely for a photo shoot. It only took about 10 takes...

This is at the top of a small hill. The lighting was just lovely, the
yellow dogs, everything just seemed to blend nicely.

Here is a photo of the bush, how the colours are splended. It was
a bit windy this past weekend, so many of the leaves have come
down already.

Our newest pack member, just enjoys a lovely walk in the woods.

Some beautiful fall colours....

Often several rabbits and other critters house themselves in the
abandon cards in the woods. The dogs just love to hunt around in
them.  Here is Sandie checking the oil....

Gyp checking out the inside of the cars..

Looks like there may be a varmint running those engines!

Golden moment.

SQUIRREL!

All tired out and satisfied after the walk. I"m talking
about the dog - not the man!

Hope you enjoy the walk, we all did!
Thanks for stopping by

Hee Hee Hee, Cackle!

I know .... Thanksgiving isn't really gone, and yet here I am stuffing a bit of Halloween into your day. I love Witches, and so does my daughter - so, I decided to make a kick start to Halloween by making a Boot Card.
This little darling was something I found off the Internet and just *Had* to try it out!

It was hand cut by me from a template off a Cricut design. The paper was bought several months ago from Tara at  Up The Street, along with the lace paper. The lace ribbon and boot tie was purchased from Salvation Army sewing bin.  It was fun doing this little gem. I entered this little darling in the Crazy 4 Challenges  Halloween event! Go check out all the other wonderful works.
Hope you enjoyed her!
thanks for dropping by

Thanks a Bunch!

Well, here I am busy in the crafting spot this week. I've decided to enter my very first
Challenge this year a Crazy 4 Challenges,  which was suggested to a group of us by Andrea, a resident Diva at  Scrapping Great Deals. I just love the ladies there and the worderful things they do!

This card goes with the Crazy 4 Challenge theme of Thank you or Thanksgiving Theme.
I chose Thank You...
The card was made with the Mo Manning Penny Black Stamp. The image was  layered several times and coloured with TomBows. Paper was from a Bo Bunny clearance, Butterfly was an extra from a card class several weeks ago, and the paper flowers are a mix of paper tole made, Garage Sale finds, and Wild Orchid Crafts. The Daisy was made from Die-namics - Upsey-Daisies. Ribbon was a yard sale find.  Dollar store glitter and Star Dust to accent.
Thanks for stopping by,

Chick update

Hey - Remember the hatching eggs I got in April/May and seven of them hatched out?
Well, here is the group now. We are down to one bantam hen raising the group of 7, "Mother Hubbard" as she is affectionatly know as around here.  She is managing the small flock of 7 chicks.
Today I let them out in the field for some fresh grass time.  I may have one or two roosters, perhaps they all are pullets, but the little one may be a Bantam henX as I had two of Peep's eggs setting as well. -
I've named it Motley,
and you can tell why.

Have a great day, and thanks for checking in!

Mother Hubbard and her two chicks (the eggs she hatched out)

Mother Hubbard keeping watch.

I think this guy may be a Roo. He's from Peep's hatch.

This is the rest of Peep's chicks - I think they may be pullets

Yummmmm enjoying that nice grass gone to seed.

Roo baby?

Leaving Elementry...

Here is a card I made for Dougla's Graduation next week. He's off to High School next September.  I found the card idea off of Pinterest, so I can't take the credit for the orginal idea.  The bow tie is made of paper, from a template I used.  I bought two packs of black Paper at a yard sale for $1.00, and the bling is from Dollar Store.

Splish Splash

Lily never ceases to amaze us with her independent thinking abilities. She can problem solve very well and is very in tune with her surroundings. This past weekend she showed us how smart an English Shepherd can be with her demonstration of -

How to enter a pool for the first time.....

knows how to enter the pool...

Hmmmmm , I'll think about this for a moment...

Just having a good look around...

trying to work out the ladder..and the lack of a solid surface...

Starting to take the plunge...

SPLASH! (not a graceful entry - but an entry nonetheless)

Hey Dad ! I"m swimming!

Ahhh this is the life!

The Sky is Falling!

Okay - It's been a while,  but really, its been a flurry of activity here this past month.

About four weeks ago, (maybe more) The three bantam hens I have hatched out eggs. Now not only do I have 3 pullets that are 7 weeks old, I also have 7 chicks that are about three weeks old. The funny part is they all 'belong' to different mothers. Peep has four chicks, Mother Hubbard has two, and Cheap has only one. (only because she's a dumb mother, and couldn't hatch out her eggs if her life depended on it)
They all are Silver Laced Wyndottes, now to try and determine how many roos and how many hens I will end up with.

Here are a few of the little lovely's about a couple of days old.

Sandie is feeling a bit maternal these days, so she just loves to check out the new additions. Each group has to be carried out to their individual runs, since all the mothers don't get along with each other.  We now have group A, group B, group C and  you guessed it... group D.  Group A has been sucessfully introduced to the regular group of chickens without problem, so at least this week I only have to carry out two groups.  The run is starting to look like a scene from Hogans Heros with fencing everywhere to keep everyone seperated. Remind me again next year not to have multiple hatches.

Enjoy as we get ready for warmer weather, Grade 8 Graduation , and stressing out Lily..
