"Get Her" Soccer

Happy New Year, and it was such a beautiful morning I decided to do some chores outside.

One of the things my two dogs like to do when I go outside is play a game of "Get Her" Soccer. This game was created by my DH's old Border Collie, Chloe, who would stand there and bark, and then chase (Hence 'Get Her") the other dog while we threw the ball for her. This behaviour transferred over to Gyp when we got her, by watching what Chloe did with the other dog. When the ball retrieving duties were moved to Chloe, Gyp then took it upon herslf to appoint her new position of barking duties and chase.

Sandie is now the ball retrieving fool of the household and in the winter Gyp will play a soccer version of the "Get Her" game, Chloe taught her. This game is an intense stare down of Sandie, followed by a "Ruff!" and a bolt after Sandie as we kick the ball for her. Gyp then chases Sandie down to the ball, with another "Ruff" and sometiemsable to block the ball-catching attempt by using her body. Sandie then has to make a flailing attempt to snap at the ball as she darts by! Sandie turns around and pronks onto the non-moving ball, grips it in her mouth and trots or runs back to us. Gyp follows Sandie from behind, likes she's working her ,back towards us.

The whole things starts over again at the next kick.
Again, Happy New Year and thanks for stopping by.
